Day 1: Welcome to the City of Poets

Your journey begins as you touch down in Shiraz, the cultural capital of Iran known for its poetry, wine, and flowers.

Day 2: The Glory of the Empires

Today, we travel back 2,500 years to witness the grandeur of the Achaemenid Empire.

• Persepolis (UNESCO): We visit the ceremonial capital of the Persian Empire. Walk through the Gate of All Nations and marvel at the colossal columns and intricate bas-reliefs that whisper stories of ancient kings.

• Necropolis (Naqsh-e Rustam): Just a short drive away, gaze up at the awe-inspiring rock-cut tombs of the Persian kings carved high into the cliff face. We will also view the Cube of Zoroaster, a mysterious stone tower that has puzzled historians for centuries.

Day 3: A Kaleidoscope of Color and Culture

Dive deep into the heart of Shiraz to explore its most photogenic and spiritual sites.

• Nasir al-Mulk (Pink Mosque): Start your morning watching the sunlight dance through stained glass windows, painting the floor in a rainbow of colors.

• Vakil Complex: Explore the royal heritage of the Zand dynasty, including the Vakil Bathhouse and the bustling Vakil Bazaar, perfect for finding spices and handicrafts.

• Karim Khan Citadel: Admire the massive fortress that once served as the ruler’s living quarters.

• Eram Garden (UNESCO): Stroll through this Persian botanical masterpiece, filled with towering cypress trees and the scent of blossoms.

• Tomb of Hafez: We end the day paying respects to Iran’s most beloved poet. Join locals as they recite verses in the atmospheric garden pavilion.

Day 4: From Gardens to the Desert

Location: Shiraz ➔ Yazd (450 km) Stay: Yazd

We leave Shiraz behind and head toward the desert city of Yazd, stopping at historical gems along the way.

• Pasargadae (UNESCO): Pay homage to Cyrus the Great at his simple yet profound tomb, the resting place of the founder of the Persian Empire.

• Abarkuh: Visit the legendary 4,500-year-old Cypress Tree, a living witness to history. We also visit the Aghazadeh House, featuring a stunning two-story windcatcher (badgir) depicted on Iranian banknotes.

Day 5: The Jewel of the Desert

Location: Yazd Stay: Yazd

Yazd is a UNESCO World Heritage city, famous for its mud-brick architecture and Zoroastrian heritage.

• Towers of Silence: Visit the hauntingly beautiful hilltop towers where Zoroastrians once placed their dead.

• Zoroastrian Fire Temple: See the sacred fire that is said to have been burning continuously for over 1,500 years.

• Dowlat Abad Garden (UNESCO): Marvel at the world’s tallest windcatcher and the lush gardens that survive in the desert heat.

• Old Town & Water Museum: Get lost in the winding mud-brick alleyways and learn about the incredible Qanat underground water system.

• Jameh Mosque: Admire the soaring minarets and exquisite blue tile work.

• Zurkhaneh: Experience the “House of Strength,” a traditional ancient Iranian gymnasium combining sport, spirituality, and rhythm.

Day 6: Caravanserais and Bridges

Location: Yazd ➔ Isfahan (310 km) Stay: Isfahan

We drive to Isfahan, stopping to appreciate desert architecture en route.

• Meybod & Nain: Discover the ancient infrastructure of the Silk Road, including a Caravanserai, a traditional Ice House (Yakhchal), and a fascinating Pigeon Tower.

• Isfahan Bridges: Upon arrival in Isfahan, we visit the historic bridges crossing the Zayandeh Rood river. Walk across the Khaju and Si-o-Seh Pol (33 Arches) bridges, where locals gather to sing and socialize at sunset.

Day 7: “Half of the World”

Location: Isfahan Stay: Isfahan

Today covers the pinnacle of Safavid art and architecture. There is a Persian saying: “Isfahan nesf-e jahan” (Isfahan is half the world).

• Naqsh-e Jahan Square (UNESCO): Step into the second-largest square on earth. It is a treasure trove of architecture.

• The Mosques: Visit the Imam Mosque (Shah Mosque) with its magnificent blue tiles and the Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, famous for its off-center dome and lack of minarets.

• The Palaces: Explore Ali Qapu Palace (with its music room) and the Chehel Sotoun (40 Columns Palace), set within a beautiful garden.

• Qeysarieh Bazaar: Finish the day wandering through one of the oldest and largest bazaars in the Middle East, perfect for buying Persian carpets and miniatures.

• Vank Cathedral: Before leaving Isfahan, visit the Armenian quarter of Jolfa to see this stunning cathedral, featuring a unique blend of Islamic and Christian art.

• Fin Garden (UNESCO): In Kashan, walk through the epitome of the Persian Garden, famous for its symmetry and water features.

• Historical Houses: Visit the Tabatabaei House, a masterpiece of traditional desert residential architecture, and the Agha Bozorg Mosque.

• Transfer: We conclude the tour with a transfer to Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKA) for your departure flight, carrying memories of Persia that will last a lifetime.
